to privatise the NHS and keep the railways privatised, all at our expense and with no risk to them

FORCE OUT OTHER OPERATORS WITH PROMISE OF BETTER SERVICES, THEN DONíT PROVIDE THEM

Virgin Trains has a history of forcing other operators off rail routes with the promise that they are going to provide such a wonderful service that other trains mustnít be allowed to get in their way.

West Coast Upgrade (PUG2)

This never happened; Virgin effectively bullied Railtrack (now defunct) into promising the impossible, and were hugely compensated. In the meantime, there are no Southern (then Connex) services to Rugby any more, and London Midland have very limited access to the fast tracks.

Operation Princess

This was to be a high-frequency, clockface service on cross-country routes, which could only be achieved if other operators were forced out of the extremities. This is why, for example, there are no Southern services to Bournemouth any more.

The promised timetable was never delivered.
