Virgin Care already operates 250 NHS and social care services and had a turnover of £40.38 million in the financial year ending 2015.  They have to be sure that the leaders of the main political parties will not threaten their ongoing privatisation of the NHS.


Having private companies diagnosing conditions and then receiving taxpayers’ money to treat them can’t possibly provide value for money or appropriate benefit for patients.  It’s equivalent to landlords charging any rent they like in the knowledge that housing benefit will increase accordingly to cover it.  One of many ways in which the taxpayer subsidises private companies (along with “Help to Buy” and other scams).
